After the rest day we are full of energy and we drive from Sucre to Totora, where we check into a small hotel, have lunch and then we visit the Incallajta ruins.
On our way from Sucre to Totora we pass through little visited Bolivian countryside, full of mountain ranges and river gullies and valleys, dotted with small Indian settlements. We cross the great river of Rio Grande over Puente Arce (bridge) and follow the Catatiry mountain range and eventually we descent to a valley and arrive to the town of Aiquile that had been partially destroyed by earthquake back in 1998. From Aiquile we continue north, crossing the grand Mizque River and in due course arriving to Totora. Totora is a lovely colonial town with narrow streets and old houses giving this town authentic feel of what the life have been back in the colonial days.
